Biography

Jerry Amernic is the author of several books and a contributor to newspapers and magazines. His first book Victims: The Orphans of Justice was an eye-opener into Canada's criminal justice system and led to a column in the Toronto Sun. Jerry later wrote two books on Canadian cities for U.S. publisher Community Communications. His latest book is DUTY - The Life of a Cop, a collaboration with Julian Fantino about Mr. Fantino's life in law enforcement. It was released by Key Porter Books in the fall of 2007. Jerry's debut novel Gift of the Bambino attracted strong reviews from the Wall Street Journal, L.A. Daily News, the Globe and Mail, and other newspapers across North America. The novel, about baseball in the days of Babe Ruth, inspired Jerry to lead a campaign to have the spot where Babe Ruth hit his first professional home run made into a heritage site. Jerry continues to write novels with a historical bent.
