EXPERIENCE
Jerry Amernic is a consultant who brings the experience and mind set of a journalist to corporate communications. The author of five books and a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines, he helps organizations with both internal and external communications. He has worked with some of the largest corporations in Canada from a wide variety of sectors, and has been counsel to government, associations and not-for-profits. In terms of public relations and media relations, he helps organizations identify the stories that deserve to be told, and delivers them to the media.
After his first book was published about Canada’s criminal justice system, Jerry became a Sunday columnist with the Toronto Sun. He has since been a feature correspondent with the Toronto Star, Ottawa Citizen and National Post. More recently, he penned the novel Gift of the Bambino, which received rave reviews across North America, and collaborated with Julian Fantino on the best-selling book about Mr. Fantino’s life in law enforcement – Duty - The Life of a Cop. Along the way, he has been a newspaper reporter, writer/editor at a major multinational, and Senior Consultant at two public relations agencies. He has taught Public Relations and Corporate Communications at three community colleges, and is a keynote speaker and seminar leader.
